This weekend we took the kids to the Renaissance Faire in Irwindale, CA. The folks who put on the festival did a wonderful job and it was a lot of fun. The faire is on for the next six weeks, so if you live in the area you should check it out. I posted some pictures to Flickr as well, and a video should be up shortly.
Just saw this tweet from Guy Kawasaki and thought I’d pass it along for the Star Wars fans out there. It’s a “How Star Wars Changed the World” timeline / map showing a lot of stuff that sprouted from the movie, including ILM, THX, etc.
I just ran across a fun website called Corkd. It was linked off of Gary Vaynerchuk’s site, and looks like a great mashup of wine info and social media. Check it out, and if you like it sign up and send me a friend request. I can always use a good recommendation on a bottle of wine.
To everyone here in the US, hope you’re all having a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
The website “PalinAsPresident” has a hilarious point-and-click tour that helps us imagine what Sarah Palin would do in in the Oval Office. Move your mouse around and click on different parts of the picture. My two favorites: the stock ticker on the computer screen behind her, and the dinosaur wandering aroud outside (also note the contents of the trash can). Don’t forget to click on the red phone, either.
Rockstar Games is set to release the next Midnight Club this October. The game is set in Los Angeles and looks like it will be a blast. According to reviews it’s an open map, so players will be able to drive through LA at will, although they have changed some of the geography of the city. For those of us who spend way too much time stuck in SoCal traffic this promises to be a lot of fun.
We’re headed to Vegas next month for the New Media Expo. I just bought tickets to the Coverville 500 show on Friday night which should be a lot of fun. I’ve been checking out Yelp for some good spots off the strip for food, drink and entertainment. Leave a comment or drop me a note if you’re going to be at the expo.
Excellent news!! In a follow-up to the alien visitations in Stephenville, TX a few months ago, we now apparently have video footage of an alien visitor.
Something tells me this guy can type ~300 words per minute.
